Soundcheck

About

About & how to update

Soundcheck is the sound-booth handbook for Branson Bible Church — how to set up a channel on the X32 and the fundamentals behind it, written for volunteers, built to read on a phone in a dim booth.

What it is

How to keep it current

The site is plain HTML — no accounts, no logins, no database. The most important thing you can do is keep the church-specific details accurate.

First job: fill in Our Setup

Our Setup is a template with blanks for BBC's patch list, channel map, scene names, DCA layout, and monitor rig. Filling it in is what turns this from a generic X32 guide into your desk's manual. Keep it updated whenever the stage or the routing changes.

Editing the content

The written source for every page lives in the project's content/ folder as Markdown files (for example content/guide.md, content/howto-set-the-gain.md). The pages under guide/, howto/, reference/, sunday/, and troubleshooting/ are built from those.

How changes go live

The site is hosted on Netlify and connected to its code repository. When an edit is committed and pushed, Netlify rebuilds and publishes automatically — usually within a minute. There's no separate "publish" button.

If you're not comfortable with that workflow, hand your changes to whoever set the site up. The design and structure are locked so that content edits are safe and simple.

If you move or rename the site

The QR code at the sound position points at a fixed web address. If that address ever changes, generate a new QR code for the new address and reprint it — the old one will stop working.
