Something's wrong
Start with the symptom, not the theory. Each page gives you the fast moves in order — get it working first, understand it after. Don't read; scan and act.
What's happening?
No sound
A dead channel, or the whole room silent. Mute, fader, solo, phantom, cable, patch — in order.
Feedback
That ring or squeal. Pull the channel down first, find the mic that just changed, then stop it coming back.
It sounds bad
Muddy, harsh, boxy, thin. Name it, find the frequency, cut it. And when it's the room, not the channels.
Monitor problems
Can't-hear, wedge feedback, in-ear trouble — all fixed in the monitor bus, never the mains.
The best fix is prevention
