Recall & save

Bookends for the day: start by recalling last week so you're not building from scratch, and finish by saving and backing up so next week starts where this one ended. The habit that makes every Sunday easier than the last.

Start of day — recall

• Open the SCENES screen
• Recall last week's "ready" scene (or your base starting scene)
• Glance over the desk — names, faders, DCAs look right
• Adjust for today: who's on the team, any different inputs

During the day — save at milestones

Store a fresh scene at the moments worth returning to:

• After setup and line check
• After soundcheck — "band sounds good"
• Before any big change, so you can get back

Store new, don't overwrite the good one. If an experiment goes wrong, you recall your way back in seconds instead of rebuilding. Storage is free. More on scenes →

Name them clearly and dated — Sun 03-09 Ready, not Scene 12. In a hurry, the name is the only thing that helps you.

End of day — save and back up

Don't leave without this:

• Store the final state as this week's scene
• Back up the whole show file to the USB stick
• Eject properly and take the stick with you

Here's why the USB matters: the console is a computer, and computers fail. A dead board on a Sunday morning with no backup means rebuilding everything under pressure. A stick in your bag means you load the show file onto any X32 and you're exactly where you left off. How to back up →

The payoff

Do this every week and each Sunday starts from the last one — mixes, monitors, names, and all. The work compounds instead of resetting. New volunteers inherit a dialed-in desk instead of a blank one.
