No sound

First question: one thing, or everything?

This splits the whole problem in half.

• The whole system is silent → it's the output end. Jump to "Everything's dead."
• One channel is silent, others are fine → it's that channel's chain. Jump to "One channel's dead."

One channel's dead

Check these in order — cheapest and most common first:

1. Is it muted? Look for the lit MUTE on the channel. Also check it's not held down by a mute group or a DCA fader that's all the way down. A channel is only as up as the lowest thing controlling it.
2. Is the fader up? And are you on the right fader layer — the same strip shows different channels depending on the layer button lit.
3. Solo it. Press SOLO and watch the meter.
   • Meter moves → the channel's fine; the problem is that it's not reaching the mains. Check it's assigned to the main mix (Main tab), and that the main fader is up.
   • Meter's dead → no signal is arriving. Keep going.
4. Condenser mic? Check +48V. A condenser with no phantom is silent. This is the single most common dead-mic cause. Phantom power →
5. Is the source actually on? Instrument turned up, wireless powered and not muted, laptop actually playing.
6. Check the cable. Swap it, or plug into a known-good input. Cables fail more than anything else on stage.
7. Check the patch. Has this channel's input source been overridden on its Config tab? Patch & route →

Everything's dead

Nothing at all in the room:

1. Main fader up? And the main mute not engaged.
2. A mute group silencing everything? Look for a lit mute-group button — easy to leave one on.
3. Amplifiers / powered speakers on? And their level up.
4. The whole stagebox is silent (all its channels at once) → the AES50 link. Check the cable between the stagebox and the console.

Still nothing?

Move methodically from the source toward the speakers — mic, cable, input, channel, mains, amp, speaker. The dead spot is somewhere on that line, and checking in order finds it faster than guessing.
